If you have bought your single bed from Ikea and wonder why your sheets and protectors struggle to fit over your mattress this is because an Ikea single is actually 10cm longer than a standard UK single.
Long single beds are perfect when you need that extra length. When two single beds are zipped and linked together to make a UK super king size bed 6ft x 6ft 6", the singles are usually long singles 6ft 6" long. This bed can often be referred to as a Euro Single because it is the standard size of a single bed in many European countries.
Many bed manufacturers refer to this size as a 90 x 200cm, but really it is 3ft (91cm) wide. A Long Single bed measures 3ft x 6ft 6in / 91 x 200cm (36" x 79"). Not only is this the size of Ikea single mattresses, it is quite often the size of Single 3ft electric / adjustable beds.
