Which Duvet Size Guide?
A guide to choosing the right fit for your bedding.
Too big or too small, there is nothing worse than a duvet that doesn't fit your cover. As with all bedding the best way achieve a perfect fit is to measure your duvet and your duvet cover in order to establish what you have and what you need.
Below is a helpful round-up of the most common duvet sizes, along with a brief description for each. It is best to buy your duvet and duvet cover the same size as even though they
are described as the exact same measurement the covers are made to fit the duvets.
The most common problem customers seem to have is
using the duvet the wrong way on the larger sizes, the King, Super King and
Emperor / Large Emperor where the width is wider than the length.
Single Duvets
54" x 78" (135cm x 200cm)
A UK Single duvet has never been the most generous size of duvet for the 3ft wide bed, but still very popular and used alot now on the smaller 2ft 6" wide beds.
Long Single Duvets
54" x 86" (135cm x 220cm)
Long Single beds are very popular and there is nothing worse than your toes sticking out the end of the duvet! We have a simple answer! A long single duvet.
Small Double Duvets
67" x 86" (170cm x 220cm)
A small double duvet is 8" (20cm) longer than a standard single or double duvet, so great also for the longer 6ft 6" (200cm) beds. When a Single is too small & a Double is too big.
Double Duvets
78" x 78" (200cm x 200cm)
The 4ft 6" wide double bed. This size can also be used on a small double 4ft wide bed if you don't mind it being a little oversized, offering extra comfort.
King Size Duvets
90" x 86" (230cm x 220cm)
The King is most commonly used on a 5ft King bed, but we find customers quite often use a king on a double bed for extra coverage.
Super King Size Duvets
102" x 86" (260cm x 220cm)
Customers like to use this more generous size on King size (5ft), Ikea King (5ft 3"), Small Super King (5ft 6") beds and Super King (6ft 3") beds.
Emperor Size Duvets
114" x 93" (290cm x 235cm)
An Emperor size duvet canters for emperor, long emperor & large emperor. The duvet/duvet cover is the same size for the different size beds.
Caesar Size Duvets
126" x 93" (320cm x 235cm)
Emperor Duvets are more than big enough for an 8ft Bed, but we now have the even wider Caesar duvets which are the same length as an Emperor, but even wider.
