All Flat SheetsTop Sheet or Flat Sheet - Commonly used in North America, but uncommon in Europe, a flat sheet (also known as a top sheet), is the sheet that separates you from your duvet. In Europe (and very slowly catching on in the United States), the duvet cover takes the place of the top sheet. However Flat sheets are very versatile and have many uses. The purpose of a flat sheet is to protect your duvet cover, meaning that if you wash your flat sheet often, you shouldn't have to wash your duvet cover as regularly. In the hospitality industry the flat sheet is commonly used as a bottom sheet.

A duvet is used as the top layer of bedding to keep the sleeper warm as they rest. Duvets are also called duvet inserts as they are most commonly inserted into a cover. A tog is essentially a measure of how effectively a duvet insulates heat. The higher the tog rating, the warmer the duvet will be, with 1 tog being very cool and lightweight, and 15 being the warmest.
A pillowcase is used to cover a pillow and sometimes a bolster pillow. It’s normally a rectangular shape with an opening on one end where you insert the pillow. It is recommended that you change your pillowcase at least twice per week to protect your facial skin from breakouts or skin irritation.Oxford pillowcases and Housewife pillowcases have the same internal dimensions but there is one small difference. Oxford pillowcases, have a wide stitched hem around the edge to create a border which is usually between 5-10cm. Housewife pillowcases have a sewn edge which fits neatly to the pillow.
