It is estimated that up to 10 million tonnes of plastic waste enters the ocean from coastal communities each year. Plastic bags, bottles and other plastic accumulate forming huge patches of waste. Waves of plastic waste are rolling onto our beaches. In the ocean, plastic pollution impacts sea turtles, whales, seabirds, fish, coral reefs, and countless other species and habitats. Marine and bay areas are increasingly becoming less viable environments for humans and animals alike. Here at the Linen Cupboard we are excited to announce a brand new line that will completely change the bedding industry. Our All New Aerelle Blue Range is not only perfect for the family but save lives of the beautiful sea creatures we hold on this planet. This Aerelle Blue range is in co-operation with Plastic Bank, to ensure that the plastic usually used for the landfill will not only be premium quality but also socially responsible in their processes. Collected Plastic by Plastic Bank can be exchanged by local residents for rewards such as cash, school tuition, healthcare and insurance.
Here at The Linen Cupboard we have been using fabrics and fibres made from recycled materials to make quality fillings and fabrics for many years now. We’re experts in the Bedding industry and are very aware of the environmental impact this can have. We’re careful to operate our business in a manner that reduces our impact on the environment, prevents pollution, and protects resources. REDUCE – they are believed to be 46,000 pieces of plastic in every square mile of ocean; we are continuing to strive towards reusing and recycling packing and providing solutions to reduce single use plastic. RECYCLE – recycling just one plastic bottle saves enough energy to power a 60W light bulb for six hours. We continue to recycle all of our packing and encourage our suppliers to recycle anything they can. We are constantly introducing new recycled products that are sustainable and have a positive impact on the environment. REUSE -75% of post consumer plastic waste is sent to landfill; working closely with key strategic partners we can trace and certify fibres back to the source producing quality fillings and fabrics.
We fell in love as soon as we felt this new high-tech stuffing, as no matter how much you plump, squish or sit on them, the soft and springy fibres bounce back to their original shape almost instantly. High-tech filling fibres with amazing recovery powers are combined with a pleasant softness. This high quality synthetic filling will deliver everything you expect from a luxury bedding fill. The filling fibres in this range are made using recycled plastic from Plastic Bank. At the same time it helps people living in poverty to build a better future. We take pride in our ethical and sustainable efforts, and we have been focusing on improving our bedding ranges to make them more environmentally friendly.
Its not just about what the products are made from, but how they are made, the impact on the environment and the waste that is produced. Sleep sustainably knowing you’ve contributed to the Earth’s clean up - 100% bedding with a conscience. You can sleep better tonight knowing you’re creating a better tomorrow, with our sustainable bedding. Even the packaging is also made from 100% recycled, recyclable materials.
The feel-good fibres with an environmental benefit are exceptionally comfortable and provide a well-balanced microclimate. The fibres in this product are made from recycled plastic from Plastic Bank, globally recognised as one of the most important solutions to stop ocean plastic. Our defining difference at The Linen Cupboard is in our quality control combined with innovative production capabilities. Controlled collection and exceptional manufacturing of superior materials is a key factor to the success of our product from creation to consistent comfort at home.
Aerelle® Blue is certified with EU ecolabel and GRS and audited for traceability. Established in 1992 and recognised across Europe and worldwide, the EU Ecolabel is a label of environmental excellence that is awarded to products and services meeting high environmental standards throughout their life-cycle: from raw material extraction, to production, distribution and disposal.
Plastic Bank creates social and environmental impact in areas with high levels of poverty and plastic pollution by turning plastic waste into currency. Their mission is to encourage people to recycle plastic through collection in exchange for money, goods or services needed in their community. Here at The Linen Cupboard we are supporting Plastic Bank in their mission.
