In April 2000, a State of the Art Facility was established and has lead the way in filled bedding manufacture ever since. The purpose built factory gives full control of the products created from conception through to delivery and implementing sustainably responsible practices. The positive impact from the Eco Facility created on the local community and economy was recognised with the West-Viru county Silver Medal Award. GRS stands for Global Recycling Standard. This is the recycling, sustainability and environmentally friendly standard have been awarded.
We firmly believe in dedicating investment and resource to pioneering technological advancements, continually investing in manufacturing facilities, machinery and people. Here at the Linen Cupboard we believe all Companies should focus to ensure that all their factory sites are as environment-friendly as possible. Effective use of resources, reduction of CO2 emissions through the deployment of low carbon process technologies, reduction of water consumption through the use of 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) technologies, and implementation of environmental management to conserve biodiversity through the appropriate management of chemicals and cooperation with local communities.
Sustainable Products: Our microfiber duvet fillings use 25% less polyester than similar competitor products. Last year 38% of polyester used in our manufactured products came from recycled products and the majority of our cotton is sources through Better Cotton Initiative sources. Responsible sourcing: we select our suppliers carefully with high priority placed on fair working conditions with all our tier one suppliers undergoing audits. Operations: we aim to reduce the environmental foot print of our operations. Our duvets have a 19% lower carbon footprint than the industry standard and 90 & of our waste is recycled. Traditional lighting consumes a lot of energy and generates a higher cost too. Little things such as changing over to LED or CFL lights which have much less energy requirement. Will help decrease a companies environmental footprint massively.
Implementing a water-efficiency program in manufacturing facilities. This would help in conserving large amounts of water and saving money on buying, heating, treating and disposing of water. This Award winning eco factory is powered using energy from certified renewable sources and combined with super light and luxurious fibres to create products that not only help you sleep better, but are better for the environment. Because we believe beautiful luxury bedding shouldn’t cost the earth.
Here at The Linen Cupboard we have been using fabrics and fibres made from recycled materials to make quality fillings and fabrics for many years now. We’re experts in the Bedding industry and are very aware of the environmental impact this can have. We’re careful to operate our business in a manner that reduces our impact on the environment, prevents pollution, and protects resources. REDUCE – they are believed to be 46,000 pieces of plastic in every square mile of ocean; we are continuing to strive towards reusing and recycling packing and providing solutions to reduce single use plastic. RECYCLE – recycling just one plastic bottle saves enough energy to power a 60W light bulb for six hours. We continue to recycle all of our packing and encourage our suppliers to recycle anything they can. We are constantly introducing new recycled products that are sustainable and have a positive impact on the environment. REUSE -75% of post consumer plastic waste is sent to landfill; working closely with key strategic partners we can trace and certify fibres back to the source producing quality fillings and fabrics.
